Academic Team

The Academic Team is open to all cadets. Members will prepare to compete locally and nationally in competition with other NJROTC Units. Study sessions are scheduled during lunch hours in the NJROTC spaces.

Color Guard

The Color Guard is open to all cadets. Members will be prepared to present the National Colors at all scheduled events, participate in parades and other outside activities where the display of the colors will add ceremony to the occasion. They present the American flag, known to the color guard as the National Ensign. The National Ensign is usually accompanied by at least one other flag, but may be carried individually. Members of the Color Guard, usually comprised of four members, are identified by a green and gold honor cord worn on the left shoulder and the Color Guard Award ribbon. Color Guard members are expected to demonstrate outstanding characteristics of conduct, personal grooming and military bearing.

Drill Team

The Drill Team is open to all cadets. Members will be prepared to perform at all athletic events providing half-time entertainment. During the school year the unit performs throughout the state and mid-Atlantic region, competing in invitation drill meets, parades, etc. Drill Team members are identified by a green and gold honor cord worn on the left shoulder and by the Drill Team ribbon award. Drill Team members are expected to demonstrate outstanding characteristics of conduct, personal grooming and military bearing.

Orienteering Team

The Orienteering Team is open to all Cadets. Members of the team learn how to use a compass and a topographic map. The objective is to run or walk to a series of points shown on a map, choosing routes, both on and off established trails, that will allow the orienteer to find all the points and return to the finish in the shortest amount of elapsed time.

Rifle Team

The Rifle Team is open to all cadets. Members will prepared to compete in three position shooting tournaments in the local area as well as matches sponsored by various NJROTC Units nationally. Rifle Team members are identified by the green honor cord worn on the left shoulder and the Rifle Team Award ribbon.
